Pre-Conference Educational Programs
The 2011 IACUC Conference's pre-conference programs were an extension of the meeting’s educational experience. Attendees came to the conference early and reinforced their commitment to high-quality learning opportunities. We offered the following pre-conference programs during this event:
Essentials of IACUC Administration
March 29: 12:00-5:00 PM
March 30: 8:00 AM-5:30 PM
Essentials of IACUC Administration was a one and a half-day course that provided IACUC administrators and support staff, as well as training and compliance personnel, with an overview of how to effectively manage an animal care and use program. Although not required, it was strongly recommended that participants had attended an IACUC 101 program, or that they possessed a working knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to animal subjects research prior to taking this course.
IACUC 101: "The Basics"
March 30: 8:15 AM-5:00 PM
IACUC 101: “The Basics” was a full one-day didactic and interactive training course for new, as well as seasoned IACUC members, IACUC affiliates, and individuals responsible for their institution’s animal care program. The program was delivered by a top-notch faculty renowned for their expertise in institutional animal care and use issues and program development.
This program was reviewed and approved by the AAVSB RACE program for 6.5 hours of continuing education in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval. Please contact the AAVSB RACE program if you have any comments/concerns regarding this program¹s validity or relevancy to the veterinary profession.
