At Your Doorstep

Overview

At Your Doorstep PhotoSince its launch in 1998, PRIM&R’s At Your Doorstep program has brought two courses, Institutional Review Board (IRB) 101sm and IRB 250, to more than 14,000 human research protections professionals around the world.

PRIM&R and the hosting institution customize the program’s learning objectives so they meet the needs and competency level of the individual institution. When you bring an At Your Doorstep program to your institution, your personnel will interact with our experienced and respected faculty to deepen their understanding of the regulatory requirements and ethical principles around human research. Whether you’re preparing for accreditation, orienting new IRB members and staff, or providing ongoing professional development for your staff or researchers, At Your Doorstep can meet—and exceed—your educational goals. After attending an At Your Doorstep program, human research professionals often have a stronger grasp of the key regulations governing IRB operations, an appreciation of the ethical principles that underlie those regulations, and a familiarity with relevant and recent case studies.

Courses

IRB 101sm and IRB 250 are an essential component of any HRPP/IRB’s educational offerings, as they provide the critical foundation for new IRB members and a more involved and detailed curriculum for those with more experience.

Hosting and Collaborating

At Your Doorstep programs have been held at more than 150 institutions ranging from small regional health centers to large government agencies.

Institutions are encouraged to collaborate locally to host an At Your Doorstep program. Offering this program in conjunction with your local IRB consortium is a great way to share the educational benefits and network with colleagues in your region.
