PRIM&R’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) 101sm, the highly acclaimed educational program featured at our annual conferences, can be delivered to your institution. More than 14,000 participants from the United States, Central America, sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia have successfully completed this educational program since its launch in 1998. Taught by seasoned IRB/HRPP professionals and highly respected leaders in the field, the program is based upon an established and continuously updated curriculum. We heard you! Due to the overwhelming number of inquiries from organizations seeking a more focused and topic-specific educational program in human research protections, PRIM&R has developed a follow up to our highly acclaimed IRB 101sm. Strengthen and synthesize your knowledge base by attending the newest addition to PRIM&R’s At Your Doorstep series, IRB 250: Selected Topics.
IRB 250 has been designed for professionals seeking additional knowledge and further insight into some of the many hot topics related to human subjects protections programs. The curriculum also provides an array of highly practical strategies for enhancing an institution’s IRB/HRPP operations via the use of best practices. This program is taught by IRB/HRPP experts who are also recognized leaders in the fields of human research protections and research ethics.
Each customized IRB 250 program begins with an introductory section on the “Criteria for the Review of Research,” followed by four additional modules that best meet the needs of the host institution. Topics include: Applying the Expedited Categories, Applying the Exemption Categories, Conflicts of Interest, Children and Adolescents, Informed Consent, International Research, Internet Research, Unanticipated Problems and Adverse Events, Research with Biological Specimens, and more!
