    Meet the Conference Blog Squad!

    DeEtte_BurnsDeEtte Burns, CIP, started in the industry 18 years ago after applying to work in the medical records department of The Iowa Heart Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Eventually her career moved her to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines then to the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and she now works for Ascension Wisconsin as the senior IRB Coordinator. Her passion is helping prepare her colleagues for the CIP exam and she has been overseeing the CIP Facebook page for 6 years.

    Luery_photoSarah Luery, MA, CIP, is the IRB Administrator at the University of Southern California, where she specializes in social behavioral research. She is also a member of PRIM&R’s Emerging Professionals Workgroup. Prior to coming to USC, Sarah completed a master’s degree in Sociology at California State University, Northridge, where she studied how people present themselves online.

    Michael-RossanoMichael Rossano, BA, is the IRB Manager at Northwell Health. At Northwell, Michael is responsible for reviewing oncology research across the health system. He also has expertise in the ethics of genetic testing in research and New York State law pertaining to this issue. Michael was drawn to the human subjects protections field as part of his strong interest in research ethics. His academic interests also include health policy and global bioethics, and he is finishing a master's degree in bioethics at Columbia University. Michael recently presented a poster at PRIM&R's 2016 AER Conference, and is an active member of PRIM&R's mentorship program.

    Erik-WilliamsErik Williams is a compliance specialist at Arizona State University. He has been a staff member at Arizona State University for the last two and a half years. Prior to that, he was a student board member for three years at University of Wisconsin Eau Claire while working on his MA in English Literature. His focus is on SBER research and issues and he is a contributing member of the SBER network.

    Jennie-WyderkoJennie Wyderko, MS, is the research compliance officer at Western Carolina University located in Cullowhee, North Carolina. She oversees and coordinates the IRB, IACUC and IBC for the campus. She is also responsible for oversight of export controls, responsible conduct of research, and conflict of interest as related to research.
