    Volunteer at the 2017 IACUC Conference (IACUC17)!

    Many of the events that take place at our annual IACUC Conference cannot happen without the help of dedicated volunteers. Consider volunteering in one or more of the capacities listed below.     Blog Squad

    Do you have strong writing skills and an interest in showcasing your work to the animal care and use community? Help cover IACUC17 from start to finish by applying to be a member of the PRIM&R Blog Squad.

    Members selected to join the Blog Squad will receive complimentary registration to the IACUC Conference and an IACUC Conference pre-conference program. They will also have an opportunity to showcase their work on our blog, Ampersand. Find details and application information on our Conference Blog Squad page.

    Conference Greeter & Keynote Usher

    Meet and mingle with friends, new and old! Not only will greeters help to build the PRIM&R community by making attendees feel welcome, they also have a unique opportunity for making connections.

    Greeters will be stationed in several places throughout the conference venue. As a greeter, you will:

    • Greet conference attendees warmly and maintain a welcoming presence
    • Answer questions when possible, and/or direct attendees to the appropriate staff members
    • Help attendees find seats at the outset of panel, plenary, and keynote sessions at the conference

    Available shifts:

    Monday, March 20:

    • 7:45-8:15 AM
    • 1:45-2:15 PM

    Tuesday, March 21:

    • 7:45-8:15 AM

    First-Time Attendee Breakfast Discussion Facilitator

    As a first-time attendee breakfast greeter, you have the opportunity to get to know newcomers at the conference and make them feel welcome. Simply choose a table at the Continental Breakfast to Welcome First-Time Attendees, which will be held on Monday, March 20 at 7:00 AM, and chat with those who are joining us for the first time.
    As a first-time attendee breakfast discussion facilitator, you will:

    • Interact with newcomers at the breakfast and make them feel welcome
    • Informally share your past conference experiences and your advice for gaining the most from a packed conference program with the attendees at your table

    Registration Desk Volunteer

    Serve as volunteer at our registration desk and you’ll be one of the first faces seen by many of our attendees! In this role, you’ll be responsible for checking in attendees as they arrive, providing them with the materials they’ll need for the event, and answering general event and venue-related questions.

    Those who volunteer in this capacity will be asked to attend a brief training 15 minutes before their first shift.

    The available shifts are:

    Sunday, March 19:

    • 7:00-9:00 AM*
    • 4:00-6:00 PM*

    Monday, March 20

    • 7:00–8:00 AM

    Tuesday, March 21

    • 7:00–8:00 AM

    *Shifts are flexible for those attending a pre-conference program.

    Roundtable Discussion Facilitator

    Roundtables Discussions are an informal opportunity for conference attendees to learn from each other and more experienced members of the animal care and use community. As a facilitator, your primary responsibility will be promoting and directing the conversation at your table and ensuring each participant has time to speak, as well as sharing any of your experiences or insights that may be relevant to the group’s questions. Tables will be available for the following groups:

    • Career/Leadership/Management
    • Compliance/Federal/Legal/Regulatory
    • IACUC Chairs and Members
    • IACUC Administration
    • Nonaffiliated IACUC Members

    Interested in serving as a Roundtable Discussions Facilitator? Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so apply today for priority consideration.

    PRIM&R Exhibit Booth Attendant

    Help promote PRIM&R membership by staffing the PRIM&R booth. Introduce attendees to PRIM&R and explain the benefits of being part of our community. Shifts of various lengths are available at all times while the PRIM&R booth is open.

    These times are:

    Monday, March 20:

    • 7:00-8:00 AM
    • 10:30-11:00 AM
    • 2:45-3:00 PM
    • 4:15-4:30 PM
    • 5:45-6:45 PM

    Tuesday, March 21:

    • 7:00-8:00 AM
    • 10:15-10:45 AM
    • 2:45-3:00 PM
